Start dates and information for the 2022/2023 Season

 

LJAC Summer Update - Aug. 14, 2022

 

Good evening Everyone,

 

We hope that LJAC Draw Zone players & families are enjoying the summer holidays & terrific weather with family & friends!! The LJAC would like like to provide some updates related to Conditioning Camp, Tryouts, AGM, Season Planning, On & Off Ice Development/Training/Education, Culture, Team Building & Community Engagement and Tournaments.

Conditioning Camp - There are just a few spots remaining for the LJAC Conditioning Camp sessions that are scheduled for Aug. 22-25.  Please register at http://LeducJuniorAthleticClub.rampregistrations.com

 

U15 AAA - August 28th **Tryout times along with groups and format will be published on August 24th. There will be 3 ice times before the player movement process commences**

U15AAA: Season starts Sept 30 and ends March 5, 2023

League Showcase: Feb. 2-5, 2023  hosted by LJAC

Medicine Hat Hockey Hounds Tournament: Nov. 17-20, 2022

NAX Western Canadian Crown: January 19-22, 2023

Practice days and times for the 2022 - 2023 season once teams are finalized: 

Tuesdays - 7:45pm - 9:00pm Aspen Arena LRC - On Ice Skill Development with Making Stridz and Goalie Instructor Ty Rimmer. Off Ice Training at the LRC. Some weeks we will have players from each of the 3 teams split up by position and join together to maximize on ice development.

Thursdays - 7:15pm - 8:30pm Aspen Arena LRC

Fridays - Time and location to be confirmed

League Updates: 34 regular season games. 3 vs 3 5min OT format with the winner receiving 2 pts for a win and the loser receiving 1 pt for a loss. Tie game will result in 1 pt per team. Playoffs will consist of the top 8 teams in each division.

 

Please note times and days are tentative and could change between now and the start of your first team practice.

 

U17 AAA - September 6th ** Please note that U17 players will attend the U18 tryouts before attending the U17 tryouts. Players will be given tryout information for the U17 team if and or when a player release occurs**

U17AAA: Season starts Oct 7 and ends March 12, 2023

League Showcase: Dec. 2-4, 2022 Cochrane

Okanagan Classic: Dec. 28-31, 2022 @ Kelowna

Practice days and times for the 2022 - 2023 season once teams are finalized: 

Tuesdays - 6:15pm - 7:30pm Aspen Arena LRC - On Ice Skill Development with Making Stridz and Goalie Instructor Ty Rimmer. Off Ice Training at the LRC. Some weeks we will have players from each of the 3 teams split up by position and join together to maximize on ice development.

Thursdays - 8:45pm - 10:00pm Aspen Arena LRC

U18AAA League Showcase: Oct. 8-9, 2022  St. Albert

Monctonian AAA Challenge: Nov. 17-20, 2022 @ Moncton, New Brunswick (more information to be sent out in the next week)

Macs Tournament ** If successful in qualifying** Dec 26-Jan 1

Practice days and times for the 2022 - 2023 season once teams are finalized: 

Tuesdays - 4:30pm - 6:00pm Aspen Arena LRC - On Ice Skill Development with Making Stridz and Goalie Instructor Ty Rimmer. Off Ice Training at the LRC. Some weeks we will have players from each of the 3 teams split up by position and join together to maximize on ice development.

Thursdays - 4:15pm - 5:30pm Aspen Arena LRC

Fridays - 4:15pm - 5:45pm Aspen Arena LRC 

League Updates: 38 regular season games. 3 vs 3 5min OT format with the winner receiving 2 pts for a win and the loser receiving 1 pt for a loss. Tie game will result in 1 pt per team. Also, most games will consist of 2 referees and 2 linesmen. No player changes on icing to occur. Playoffs will consist of the top 6 teams in each division.

Annual General Meeting - Wednesday, August 31 @ 5:30pm @ LRC LPH Boardroom

 

Season Planning, On & Off  Ice Development/Training/Education, Culture, Team Building & Community Engagement- LJAC Directors & Head Coaches have been busy planning, meeting and preparing for the upcoming 2022/23 AEHL Season.
