Olympic Torch Relay in Leduc Friday, January 15th
Monday, Jan 11, 2010
Show your support for Canada's Olympic Athletes and see the Olympic Torchbearers at the Leduc leg of the Olympic Torch Relay.
On January 15th the Olympic Torch will be traveling through Leduc starting from the North End near McDonalds and ending on Rollyview Road near 7-11. The estimated arrival time is 10:23 and they expect it to take 30 minutes to travel through Leduc. The torch run has a large convoy of several entertainment and advertising vehicles that lead and trail behind the torch. .The City is having a rally at the Leduc Junior High School, with over 1,000 students from local schools. Once the torch arrives they will only have 1-2 minutes for some photos and possibly a quick word from the Mayor. And then the Junior High is going to lead O’Canada as the torch exits the school.
As well, they have a huge school gathering at Willow Park with all their students. The high school will have 500 students lining the streets. And Corinthia Park will have at least 700 students from Corinthia Park and Notre Dame.

Hockey Players Help Out
Tuesday, Dec 29, 2009
In the spirit of the season, the Allen's Transport Bantam AAA Oil Kings gave from their hearts to support the Leduc Food Bank and Santa's Helpers. Great Work Team!
From the Leduc Rep:

As a kind of thanks to the Alberta Chrysler Dealers Association for their ongoing sponsorship, the Leduc Allen's Transport Bantam AAA Oil Kings collected food and toys to be donated to those in the community who need assistance throughout the Christmas season. Players filled a Dodge Grand Caravan chock-a-block full of toys and food for the Leduc and District Food Bank and Santa's Helpers, then posed for a photo at Leduc Chrysler on Dec. 19.

Off-Ice Officials - Volunteers needed
The Leduc 2010 Alberta Cup hosting committee looks forward to holding the Alberta Cup Provincial Hockey Tournament April 22-25 2010 at the Leduc Recreation Center.
Hosting an event like this requires a large group of volunteers. I am looking for off-ice officials to work the penalty box.
Each game requires an experienced timekeeper and scorekeeper. Also require a music controller and 2 penalty gate workers.
Volunteers that work a total of 4 slots will receive a complimentary piece of Alberta Cup 2010 apparel.
If you are interested in volunteering as an off-ice official, please contact Harley Tatro at htatro@shaw.ca or call 780-986-1348
